The minimum required
No unnecessary calories
That only make us tired
A weeding of the garden
A thinning of the herd
An editing of the story
Crafting every word
Things get complicated
Over the march of time
And grow to be expensive
When they only cost a dime
Somewhere within the chaos
Simplicity still lives
It’s waiting for us to find it
And all the joy it gives
About the Poem Simplicity
The poem Simplicity is about rediscovering the basics. Life gets complicated over time. We add stuff and create complicated processes in work and our lives. There’s a story about a tourist in Mexico and he comes upon a fisherman struggling to bring his boat into shore, so he helps him. His boat is full of fish. The tourist says, “Did this take you all day?” The man says, “No, I sleep late, spend time with my family in our small house, go fishing for awhile, sell the fish, and go home to my family”. The tourist says, “You should get a loan and get a fleet of boats. You would need to hire people but you could eventually sell the business and you would make lots of money. Imagine what you could do with that.” The man says, “I would sleep late, spend time with my family, go fishing for awhile, sell the fish, and go home to my family.”
Our lives often take on a variation of that story. More money means more stuff and often less time doing what we really love. Take time to scale back and rediscover the simplicity in your life.

Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
