Always moving forward
But not in a straight line
Always with the attitude
That things will turn out fine
Sometimes it is elusive
And hidden from our sight
Sometimes it just is given
The future looks so bright
We never know which path we’re on
Is a smooth or winding trail
Will it lead straight to success
Or sometimes will we fail
We may find sunny beaches
Or sometimes stuck inside a hole
It’s all part of the journey

About the Poem Progress
The poem Progress is about – wait for it – progress. Most people don’t really know what it is. And they beat themselves up when their project or life doesn’t match their expectation of progress. It’s not pretty and it’s not the highlight reel you might see of influencers on social media. Progress is messy, uncomfortable and has plenty of failure along the way. We can see each snapshot along the journey as it’s own success or failure, or we can see it as part of a broader picture. Then it starts to look different. Hopefully that’s when you actually see what progress is.
Poetry Books
Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
