Reminders all around us
Mostly red and gold
Nature’s last performance
As days are getting cold

Each one tells a story
Their history, their part
And then an earthward journey
For mother nature’s art

We gaze in appreciation
As the final act does play
Enjoying all the memories
And wishing they would stay

All days can’t have sunshine
And these colors slowly fade
But part of it stays with us
In the memories we made

About The Poem Fragments of Summer

Fragments of Summer is an inspirational poem about the changing colors that bring fall. It is dramatic and beautiful and also short lived. What was lush and green changes colors in one final crescendo before blowing away. If you take the time you can almost watch it changing. The leaves change color and diminish in numbers only to have the slate wiped clean, ready to start over in a few months. It’s like the final song in a great concert. It’s what you have been waiting for. Then it is over and all you are left with are the memories. Another great performance from Mother Nature.

Fall is probably my favorite time of year. It is still warm enough to do things and the scenery changes constantly, especially here in New England. It is colorful and dramatic and it is always changing. Each year is different. The last fragments of summer put on one last performance for us to enjoy. Then the leaves quietly blow away and say – ‘See you again next year’.

Inspirational Poetry Books

Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products

While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
