It’s something that we wish for
In conversations that we have
Taking time for thinking
To question and to laugh
Will I be heard, true
Will my message be received
Hopefully it’s clear enough
That it will be believed
We focus on our message
And how it will impact
We wish for true believers
In what we say is fact
But this is not the true wish
For what we may receive
But to be wise enough to listen
To what someone else believes
About the Poem Wise Enough to Listen
The poem Wise Enough to Listen is about the conversations we have. So many times, people aren’t actually listening. They are thinking about what they are going to say as soon as it’s their turn. We didn’t always do that. It is more or less a learned behavior. When we were little, and we sat around a campfire telling stories, we were generally listening. Somehow that shifted into rehearsing what we were going to say when it was our turn. Listening stopped, and we only heard ourselves. It doesn’t just happen between people; it happens between groups, political parties, and countries. But it starts with people, and that is where it needs to be fixed. We need to get better at listening. Humans have two ears and one mouth for a reason. We should listen at least twice as much as we talk.

Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
