There was a time before time
When words did not exist
Emotions showed as gestures
When each of us was kissed
Holding hands in silence
Witnessed only by the sea
Thoughts jump to a future
Filled with possibilities
Words need not be spoken
As hearts start to connect
And we think beyond ourselves
In the things that we reflect
It’s there where words aren’t needed
When we find ourselves in love
Embracing the traditions
Passed down from up above
About the Poem Older than Words
The poem Older than Words is based on a line from my niece’s wedding service. We have elaborate ceremonies today, but a thousand years ago, and longer, most of those trappings were not present or even in existence. The term “tying the knot” comes from a Celtic tradition in which the couple’s hands are bound with cords or ribbons to symbolize the joining of their lives. No words are needed. It is a sign for two people, and all who are present, that their lives are joined from this day forward.

Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
