Who will be the victor
When there’s no one left to fight
Who will be the champion
When terror rules the night

All of us are brothers
Despite the color of our skin
When tragedy leads to chaos
In truth nobody wins

What will this teach our children
If we are not to act
It’s time to start the healing
To keep our world intact

This is a defining moment
To simply let things burn
Or step up and make a difference
And help the tide to turn

About the Poem This Must Stop

This must stop is an inspirational poem about the current racial divide in the United States. Wouldn’t it be nice if when a tragedy occurred, we learned from it and made changes and moved forward? In Canada recently, the gun laws were changed after a single mass shooting. We don’t seem to learn as quickly south of the border. One act of violence often triggers ten more. Very quickly, the original problem is almost forgotten about because of all the fall out. How does looting a store and burning it to the ground support changes in how people of color are treated by law enforcement?

Having watched some of the demonstrations, the message isn’t we need change. It’s more, we demand change or else. And that or else is we will kill, destroy, etc. until you do what we want. It actually creates more of the conditions that led to the problem in the first place. Through-out history, ‘Do this or else’ has never been a long term solution. It just leads to more violence. We need to stop carrying around the baggage of what hasn’t worked in the past, or what offenses have existed in the past. They don’t serve us. We need to start from today and find a peaceful way forward.

The Dalai Lama says, ‘There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow. So today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live…’

Inspirational Poetry Books

Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products

While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
