We focus on the barrier
The thing that stops us cold
We stall our progress forward
While we still try to be bold
We only see the fear itself
Not what’s on the other side
We should be charging forward
But we still want to run and hide
Is the fear there to protect us
To keep us safe from harm
Or to keep us sheep in cages
Peaceful on the farm
Most times, it’s just a construct
A making of our mind
That keeps us from what we want most
When it’s not that hard to find
About the Poem The Other Side of Fear
The poem The Other Side of Fear is about the role fear plays in our lives. So often it is a barrier that we can’t see beyond, but what we want most is on the other side. Fear can protect us, but it can just as easily hold us back. As a kid we fear monsters under our bed and broccoli. Most of us eventually outgrow them. They are usually replaced by things like fear of rejection, heights, falling in love, responsibility, etc. In most cases, these fears are no more real than the monster under your bed. Broccoli is still a question mark for many people. But for most of us, the fears in our lives are just in our minds. It doesn’t make them any less difficult to overcome, but 9 times out of 10, we can actually do it. What we want most is often on the other side of our fears.

While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
