The answers may be out there
But some we cannot find
And so you have a picture

About the Poem Distant Seas
The poem Distant Seas is a poem for the family of Lauren Hilty. She was one of 10 people killed in a plane crash in Washington in Sept 2022. The crash was in the ocean, and Lauren and her son were never found. These are the situations that can be hardest for families. Most of us have seen a soap opera or one of the Jason Bourne movies, where someone is assumed lost, and they show up years later after recovering from amnesia. In the real world, there is a fractional bit of hope that we wish might happen that can stay with families for years. It’s a little bit of a mental Schrödinger’s cat scenario we let play out. Until we know for sure, anything is possible.
Some things don’t have answers or closure. This can be one of the hardest lessons in life. When I was 17, I had a helicopter crash in the woods behind my house. About 40 years later, I found myself in a church standing next to the mother of one of the people I found in the crash. She still had questions, and tears to go with them. She got a couple of them answered that day, but not all of them. Sometimes it’s enough to picture them on a journey, and we might meet up with them again someday.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
