We rarely know the number
Until the days are through
From beginning to the ending
We have to live them true

Assume each a finally
One last chance to shine
Don’t save it for later
Like some expensive wine

There’s only now or never
Or so we must behave
Something until later
Is one thing we can’t save

Was today a good day
Would you be happy if it ends
Living in the present
Is about the message that it sends

About the Poem The Days Between

The poem The Days Between is a reference to a Grateful Dead song and the first week in August when Sirius has a radio show remembering Jerry Garcia between the days of his birth (Aug 1) and death (Aug 9). That’s about where the comparison ends. I’m not even familiar with the song, but I do think the concepts are the same. We all have a beginning and ending. In most cases we don’t know when the ending is. But if we live each day as if it is the last, there will be no regrets when that time comes.

Inspirational Poetry Books

Here are some of the books that are available from Robert Longley. I would recommend the Sacred Poem journals. Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products

While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
