A simple act of bravery
A selfless single act
Becomes the things of legend
That all began as fact
No one wants to be a hero
The price is far too high
Most just do the basics
Trying to get by
Some will do the impossible
To change the course of fate
Making sure that someone lives
When it almost seems too late
Some may just get lucky
But most pay for their gift
And so heroes live for ever

About the Poem Heroes Live Forever
Heroes Live Forever is an inspirational poem written for the family of MSgt John Chapman. John and I grew up about 20 miles from one another. I wish I could say I knew him, but although we followed similar paths, they never actually crossed. We graduated a couple years apart and we both joined the Air Force. I provided support for his unit but we didn’t know each other.
Msgt John Chapman was killed March 4, 2002 trying to rescue a fellow soldier. Sixteen years later he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. He is the first Air Force recipient of the medal is several decades. A memorial in his home town is being dedicated next weekend.

Reading my earlier books (especially the ones for Military, Police and Firefighter’s families) cover to cover can be overwhelming. The poetry journals are designed to give you one poem per day while you journal about what might be going on in your life. There are specific journals for grief, success, and more.

Inspirational Poetry Products
While I do signed poetry prints that are 11×14, that isn’t the size or product that all people want. Some just want a sympathy card, others may want a large canvas print, or maybe a coffee cup. There are limits to what I can customize with the options available so some products just don’t work. Please just ignore them, I know that that format doesn’t work. If you are looking for something specific, or would like to make something specific just let me know. I’m open to just about anything.
